Religious Exploration I prefer to use the term exploration instead of education. Educate sounds like one person has all the knowledge and imparts it. Explore leaves room for each person to find out for themselves what is right and true. I love being colleagues with the DRE or CRE, and I am mindful that my ten years of experience of being a DRE could be intimidating and a source of apprehension to them. I keep very good boundaries, and, I include and value what the DRE/CRE brings to the congregation. I love including the DRE/CRE in worship planning, specifically for multi-generational worship. I tend to do a multigen at least once a month, and have experimented with having it every Sunday in the last year. It takes a lot of collaboration to make that happen, and it can be great for the congregation, and especially the children. I maintain my membership in LREDA, and occasionally got to their conferences and retreats.
